Manipueira Gold
Our groundbreaking innovative technology offers a transformative solution poised to revolutionize the handling of mercury, a potent neurotoxin, as well as cyanide salts employed in both artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) and large-scale gold mining (LSGM) operations worldwide.
According to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), almost 100 percent of all mercury used in artisanal gold mining is released into the environment, constituting a danger on all fronts – economic, environmental and human health.
Atmospheric mercury pollution was documented during 2021 by Oxford University earth scientists to stay airborne up to one year.
Atmospheric mercury pollution impacts all people on Earth including unborn children who are at the greatest risk.
The 2017 Lancet Commission on pollution and health, found that pollution was responsible for an estimated 9 million deaths (16% of all deaths globally) and for economic losses totaling US$ 4.6 trillion (6.2% of global economic output) in 2015.
Artisanal Miners
Gold Ore Processing
Artisanal miners use of mercury, a potent neurotoxin to recover gold from ore, is the Planet’s largest anthropogenic [man-made] source of deadly atmospheric mercury pollution.
According to the UNEP 2018 Global Mercury Assessment, ASG miners are collectively responsible for the release of 2,000 tonnes of mercury to our environment annually.
A 2019 New York Times interview with the co-founder of Nexus3 Foundation, an Indonesia environmental group, reports Indonesia produces 10,000 tonnes of mercury annually for the artisanal mining sector most of which ends up in S. America.

Manipueira – Nature’s Sustainable Solution Poised to Revolutionize Artisanal Gold Ore Processing
Our company’s ESG driven climate action initiative addresses the critical intersection of health, environmental sustainability, and economic growth in the artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector, aligning with key global efforts toward achieving the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being: By eliminating mercury use and promoting safer mining practices, we reduce the health risks faced by miners and surrounding communities, contributing to improved overall well-being.
SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation: Reducing mercury pollution prevents contamination of water bodies and ecosystems, ensuring safer drinking water and healthier aquatic environments.
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: Our solution supports miners by improving their gold recovery rates, increasing their earnings, and providing safer working conditions, all while promoting responsible mining practices that contribute to sustainable economic growth.
SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: By replacing harmful chemicals with Manipueira, we promote environmentally friendly and responsible gold extraction methods, ensuring more sustainable production processes in the ASM sector.
SDG 13 – Climate Action: Reducing mercury emissions helps combat environmental pollution and supports global efforts to mitigate climate change impacts.
SDG 14 – Life Below Water: Preventing mercury runoff into rivers, lakes, and oceans helps protect aquatic biodiversity, safeguarding fish populations and the health of marine ecosystems.
SDG 15 – Life on Land: By reducing toxic waste in terrestrial ecosystems, our solution contributes to healthier soils, vegetation, and biodiversity, promoting the responsible use of land-based resources.
